DESIGNED FOR PEOPLE WHO VALUE EXPERIENCE AND CONNECTION

Morocco is not just another surf destination.
It’s a place where time slows down, the Atlantic breathes differently, and every session feels less like chasing waves and more like reconnecting with yourself. At Mauka Surari, we don’t build surf camps. We craft surf journeys for people who already live intense lives.

This is for surfers who prefer longboards and mid-lengths over performance boards.
For those who value smooth lines, uncrowded waves, great conversations, and the feeling of being genuinely taken care of.

Morocco offers exactly that.

THE PLACE

There’s something timeless about Morocco. The morning calls to prayer drifting through the village. The smell of mint tea after a sunset surf. The contrast between desert landscapes and endless Atlantic coastline. Our journeys are based in carefully chosen coastal areas where authenticity still exists. Places where surf culture blends with local traditions, slow living, and genuine human connection.

This is not luxury disconnected from reality. And it’s not backpacker chaos either. It’s refined simplicity:

  • Beautiful accommodations.
  • Calm energy.
  • Thoughtful details.
  • A place where you can fully relax because everything is handled for you.

THE WAVES

The Moroccan coastline is one of the most consistent surf regions in the world, but what makes this journey special is not size or intensity.
We carefully select soft, playful, uncrowded waves during the shoulder seasons, the moments when the ocean is still alive, but without the pressure, crowds, or heavy conditions that many surfers quietly fear.

You won’t be pushed into dangerous surf.
You won’t need to fight for waves.

THE HOTEL

We choose boutique stays that combine comfort, calmness, and authenticity, places that feel intimate rather than corporate.
The shared dinners. The stories. The friendships that unexpectedly form between people from different parts of the world who somehow understand each other immediately.
This is the real luxury: Feeling part of something.
Not a party scene. Not an ego-driven surf environment.
Just good people sharing a meaningful experience around the ocean.

A boutique hotel with this Key features:
Ocean views, Quiet mornings, Beautiful interiors, Rooftop sunsets, Spacious rooms, Thoughtful service,
Small details that make you feel cared for.

Everything is designed to create ease. That’s exactly what we provide.

  • Sunset dinners with wine and conversation.
  • The kind of meals that become part of the memories.

FAQ's

For most surf trips to Morocco, the best airport is usually Agadir Al Massira Airport (AGA). It’s the closest major airport to the main surf areas like Taghazout, Tamraght, Imsouane, and Anchor Point.

December to February:
Prime surf season in Morocco. Expect the most consistent swells and the famous point breaks working at their best. Ideal for intermediate and advanced surfers looking for longer, more powerful waves.

March to April:
A great balance between good swell consistency and warmer temperatures. Waves are still fun and reliable, with a more relaxed atmosphere in the lineup.

May to September:
Smaller summer swells make this period ideal for beginners, longboarders, surf coaching, and relaxed surf trips. Sunny days, warm weather, and mellow conditions are common.

Wetsuit recommendation
Autumn / Spring: 3/2mm wetsuit
Winter months: 4/3mm wetsuit
Summer: Shorty or light 3/2mm depending on conditions.

No matter the season, Morocco offers waves for every level — from fun beach breaks to world-class point breaks.

It’s not mandatory, but we strongly recommend getting travel insurance that covers water sports.
Before entering the water, you’ll be required to sign a waiver.

Yes, you’re welcome to join us for fewer days, but please note that the full program rate will still apply. Our retreats run back-to-back, and it’s not possible for us to sell the remaining days once the program has started.

Once we have your flight number and arrival date, we’ll arrange your transfer directly to the hotel.

When you arrive at the airport, you’ll find a Mauka Surfaris representative holding a sign waiting for you at the arrivals area to take you straight to the retreat.

If the waves are expected to be too small, we’ll take you to a more exposed spot that picks up more swell.

Morocco itself offers different sections that handle various wave heights, so there’s almost always something to suit your level. The section breaking closest to the beach is usually the smallest, and waves are rarely too big, especially during the time of year we run our retreats here.

We always recommend bringing your own equipment, as nothing beats using gear you’re familiar with.
That said, if you’d rather not travel with a board, we have quality boards available for rent. Just let us know your usual board type (dimensions, volume, fin setup), and we’ll do our best to match it.

Not really. Morocco has a huge variety of surf spots spread along the coast, so it’s usually easy to find waves that match your level and avoid heavy crowds.

During our trips, we always look for spots offering comfortable, fun waves and a safe surfing experience for everyone in the group. Depending on the conditions and your level, we can choose between mellow beach breaks, long point breaks, or more sheltered waves. Even during the busy season, there are plenty of options nearby, and the consistency of the swell means there are usually many opportunities to catch waves without feeling stressed in the lineup.

Our priority is always good vibes, safe conditions, and making sure everyone enjoys their time in the water.

Wetsuit recommendation
Autumn / Spring: 3/2mm wetsuit
Winter months: 4/3mm wetsuit
Summer: Shorty or light 3/2mm depending on conditions.

Absolutely! Non-surfers are more than welcome and often have a great time.
They can enjoy:

  • The beach and ocean view

  • The hotel’s infinity pool, hot tub, and sauna

  • Massages (available on request)

  • The lounge and bar, which offers stunning views and delicious cocktails

It’s a perfect setting to relax and unwind, even without surfing.

Yes, we do! Our kitchen is happy to cater to vegan and vegetarian diets. We offer a variety of fresh, healthy, and flavorful plant-based dishes made with local ingredients.
If you have any specific dietary preferences or restrictions, just let us know in advance and our chef will do their best to accommodate your needs.
